The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that all kids have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Not all children need treatment at this age. An early screening allows us to evaluate certain growth discrepancies and potential crowding issues that may become a problem later. If treatment is recommended at this time, it is called PHASE 1, or early braces. Many parents become confused when a child needs braces. This confusion occurs as some children need braces at 7, while others not until 13. We would love to provide a free consultation to determine the best plan for your child. If a Phase 1 treatment is recommended, we will carefully weigh all factors and discuss the most appropriate timing.
We focus on efficient and fast treatment. By timing treatment correctly, we can significantly reduce the amount of time in treatment. We promise that every treatment is thoughtfully planned and prepared specific to your child as they are unique, opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach that many offices use. Our doctors have children of their own and only recommend to you what they would do for their own children.
Braces U Orthodontics offers a unique type of teeth straightening treatment at our offices in Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Greeley, Steamboat Springs, and Fort Collins. Self-ligating braces remove the need for rubber ties between teeth, meaning fewer “tightening” visits to the orthodontist and more comfort for the patient. Instead of visiting Braces U every 4-6 weeks like at a traditional orthodontist, our self-ligating braces require visits every 8-10 weeks. This means your family can spend more time going to school, getting work done, and enjoying life!
Our offices chose self-ligating braces as a treatment option because instead of bringing teeth together with rubber bands, this model uses a single wire. As a result, our patient pay fewer visits and their braces aren’t as visible.
